AVOD stands for “Ad-Supported Video-on-Demand”, and is a streaming service that offers video content with advertisements. It is a growing business model as it allows viewers to enjoy free or low cost content while at the same time giving advertisers the opportunity to reach their target audience.

The most common type of AVOD platform are TV networks that offer both live and on-demand content, such as ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS and other cable networks. These channels allow viewers to watch TV shows and movies without needing to pay extra money for premium services. Some AVOD platforms also offer subscription options like Hulu and Netflix but with ads mixed in between shows or movies.
